The role

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for effective infrastructure provisioning, installation/configuration, software deployment, services operation, and maintenance of systems software related to the assigned team(s). This includes but is not limited to provisioning cloud instances, ECS Services, storage services, streamlining deployments, configuring virtual instances, scaling out database servers, analyzing and improving configuration. 

DevOps Engineer will be required to follow processes and procedures as outlined by the DevOps and Architecture team.  The DevOps Reliability Engineer will only be responsible for the systems and services that his/her team(s) is responsible for; the DevOps Reliability Engineer should not access or change services outside of his/her team's responsibilities.

Must be proficient with AWS suite, containerization, SQL and NoSQL services, managing and network connectivity, Linux OS and troubleshooting.

What will I do?

1. Instrument, automate and configure cloud infrastructure, including compute, data, security and monitoring resources
2. Create mechanisms for optimal operation
3. Automate systems, operations and configuration management, through infrastructure as code
4. Instrument observability mechanisms in collaboration with other Clip’s teams
5. Support to other Clip’s teams to design systems for scale and ease of deployment and maintenance
6. Use automation frameworks such as Puppet/Chef/Opsworks and toolkits as CloudFormation/CDK to manage cloud infrastructure
7. Manage configurations and track changes in the environment
8. Execute OnCall processes to provide support to Clip’s daily Operation
9. Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
10. Identify, document, and lead incident response and escalation procedures, to ensure timely and effective handling of situations.

Technical knowledge

1. Strong knowledge of AWS Services 
   1. Cloud infrastructure such as EC2, Lambda ECS
   2. Automation frameworks such as Puppet/Chef/Opsworks and toolkits as CloudFormation/CDK
   3. Networking fundamentals and related services such as VPC, Subgroups, Network ACL 
2. Experience with monitoring and deployment tools
3. Proficient in Linux
4. Sound understanding of RDBMS principles and administration
5. Understand general concepts in NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
6. Programming experience with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, etc.)
7. Experience with secure systems and security principles
   1. Experience with PCI DSS, is a plus

Ideal Candidate

B.S. Computer Science or equivalent experience.

2+ years DevOps, Software Development, Architecture, Systems Operations.

Experience with monitoring, automation and deployment tools.
